Manual therapy

Hands-on manual therapy is often a component of physical therapy treatment. Our clinicians receive formal and extensive training in manual therapy from a variety of schools. Manual therapy aids in restoring and improving normal joint motion, decreasing pain, and enabling a person to regain their function. Those techniques include manipulation, mobilization of the spine and joints, soft tissue manipulation, and trigger point release. These are just few examples of the treatment tools our therapists utilize in their treatment protocols to address physical dysfunctions.

Functional Capacity Evaluation
Our practice utilizes a nationally recognized system, The Matheson System, which establishes standards for industry in safety, reliability, and practicality of the examination and outcomes of FCE. The FCE evaluators goal is to investigate, determine, and report on the reliability of a client's reports and efforts. They do so through the use of testing and examination tools which have been published and reviewed for validity in many clinical studies. We individualize the examination to client's needs to answer all necessary questions as related to the vocational needs of the clients.

Work conditioning
Work Conditioning is a program developed by your physical therapist to replicate job demands in order to prepare an individual for a safe return to work. Our philosophy is to provide clients with the most efficient and effective tools to return to work as quickly as possible. We accomplish this goal by concentrating on restoring cardiovascular endurance, physical abilities, education in proper body mechanics, safety precautions, and work simulation to prepare the clients to return to work safely and prevent future injury. Our program concentrates on frequent communication with case managers and physicians to facilitate return to work or modify the work demands to accommodate individual needs. We consistently evaluate, determine, and report our findings to case managers to enhance the patient recovery process. We utilize all recent research to report objective data related to functional outcomes and track client's improvements.
